The fight is agreed to 6 rounds at 154 pounds, each round will last 3 minutes with 2 minutes rest, and will be with boxing rules, so Banchamek will not be able to use his feet, elbows, knees as in Muay Thai. The exact date of the fight is not yet defined, nor is it where the event will be broadcast or how much the fighters will earn, what is known is that the investment of the event will be 25 million dollars. Tomorrow in Oklahoma former world champion George Kambosos will look to win a new world title when he faces current IBO world champion Maxi Hughes for the IBO Lightweight world title at an event presented by Top Rank Boxing, Di Bella Entertainment and Holden Productions. Unfortunately, yesterday the former WBC super bantamweight world champion, Juan "Kid" Meza, passed away. Meza was born in 1956 in Mexicali Baja California Mexico, he made his debut in 1977 defeating Elias Rodriguez by knockout in the third round in a fight held in Tucson Arizona. On March 27, 1982 in Atlantic City he faced the historic Wilfredo Gomez, in that fight the WBC super bantamweight world title was at stake, unfortunately Meza would lose that fight. But finally on November 3, 1984 in Kingston, New York, Meza touched glory by being crowned WBC super bantamweight world champion by defeating Jaime Garza by knockout in the first round. Said title was defended against Mike Ayala in Inglewood California and he would lose it against Lupe Pintor. Unfortunately yesterday at the age of 66 Juan Kid Meza would leave this world. In addition to Umar Nurmagomedov pulling out of the main event fight on August 5 in Nashville, Font's initial UFC 292 opponent Song Yadong is unable to compete on August 19 in Boston for an unspecified reason. Font stepped up when the Aug. 5 event in Nashville needed a new headliner and will fight Sandhagen weeks sooner than he had originally planned to appear. At UFC 290, Robert Whittaker suffered the worst loss of his professional career. He engaged in a title eliminator fight with Dricus Du Plessis. Whittaker enjoyed the overwhelming backing of the majority of spectators going into the battle. He was the clear favourite entering the race. Even fight experts predicted Whittaker would prevail. Du Plessis, on the other hand, stunned everyone when he TKO'd "The Reaper" in the second round. After his defeat at UFC 290, Whittaker appeared on the MMArcade Podcast for the first time. Whittaker acknowledged that he had expected to give his best career performance at UFC 290, but that it did not materialise. The middleweight contender discussed his apprehension about not giving it his all. He stated "It’s fear of failing to perform. It’s fear of going out there and not doing what you trained for the last four months, four hours a day in the gym, seven days a week — and then to go in there and do none of it.” The former middleweight champion acknowledged that both his wrestling and boxing required a lot of practise. He was unable to carry out his strategy throughout the battle, though. Whittaker acknowledges the setback, but thinks it may serve as a wake-up call to sharpen his abilities and outlook. After failing to defeat the champion Israel Adesanya the first two times, Whittaker intended to fight him once more. At UFC 290, things, however, did not go his way. He is currently further away from a title shot. For the time being, Dricus will be the top candidate. Sean Strickland and Adesanya are most likely to square off at the PPV event in Sydney in September.
