  • WBC orders Prograis v.s Martin.

WBC has ordered Regis Prograis fight his mandatory challenger #1 ranked contender Spain's Sandor MartĂn. Martin has a fight in Italy on july 15th against Arblin Kaba. If WBC has ordered the fight , MartĂn would have to cut a deal with Kaba and cancel that fight to fight Prograis as soon as possible. Its funny to me how the WBC works because for example you have Charlo that hasnt defended his title in 2 years and nothing happends yet they are being strict on Prograis that just fought a few days ago.

  • Is it official?????

To be brutally honest I really dont know what to believe anymore when its about Canelo. According to some sources Canelo v.s Charlo is now official. Undisputed Unified world supermiddleweight champion Canelo Álvarez will defend his titles (WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF) against the WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo. If its official I can just hear the fan critisize Canelo for fighting a fighter thats been out for 2 years and coming off a back injury. I understand Charlo he is going for all the gold (WBC, WBA ,IBF, WBO) and ofcourse the biggest payday in his carreer. These decisions make boxing fans walk away because of the unfair situatións in boxing fights and the fighters accepting just to make a good payday. Knowing Canelo he will put a rehydration clause on Charlo.

In an eagerly anticipated clash set to electrify fight fans, the UFC is eyeing a high-stakes flyweight battle between Kai Kara-France and Manel Kape at UFC 293, marking the promotion's return to Sydney, Australia in September. Multiple sources close to the matter have confirmed the potential matchup, with verbal agreements in place and contracts expected to be finalized soon. This exciting news was initially revealed by the UFC's broadcasting partner ESPN. Kai Kara-France, known for his lightning-quick style and aggressive approach, is determined to rebound after experiencing his first two-fight losing streak since joining the UFC ranks. Having triumphed in three consecutive bouts from March 2021 to March 2022, the tenacious "Don't Blink" secured an interim flyweight title fight against Brandon Moreno at UFC 277 last July but fell short, succumbing to a third-round stoppage. Currently ranked fifth in the flyweight division, Kara-France recently headlined UFC Vegas 74, engaging in a fiercely debated split decision loss against Amir Albazi. Meanwhile, Manel Kape, a former RIZIN champion and currently ranked ninth in the UFC flyweight rankings, is riding high on a three-fight win streak and seeking to seize this pivotal opportunity. Kape's ascent has been hindered by unfortunate circumstances, with his scheduled bout against Alex Perez at UFC San Antonio in March being canceled just hours before the event due to Perez's untimely withdrawal. Furthermore, his anticipated showdown with multiple-time flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 290 was derailed due to Figueiredo's injury. Although the official main event for UFC 293 has yet to be announced, all eyes are on the dynamic middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. UFC President Dana White has hinted that Adesanya will face the winner of the UFC 290 matchup between Robert Whittaker and Dricus Du Plessis, adding a layer of anticipation and intrigue to the upcoming Sydney event. As the return of the UFC to Sydney draws near, fight enthusiasts are bracing themselves for a breathtaking night of high-level mixed martial arts action. • Oscar De La Hoya sues Ryan Garcia

Golden Boy Promotions, run by Oscar De La Hoya, has sued Ryan Garcia, the star performer for the company. On Friday, a week after Garcia's legal team gave the promotions a demand letter alleging that they had broken contractual commitments, the case was submitted in the U.S. District Court of Nevada. Allegations centred on a conflict between Garcia's agreement and GBP's exclusive contract with DAZN. According to the 10-page complaint, as reported by Boxing Scene, Garcia's lawyer has directly hindered Golden Boy's capacity to interact with Garcia and has prohibited him from negotiating the best deals. The promoter also charges Valencia with meddling with the negotiations for Garcia's fight with Davis, which has been his most important matchup to date. Additionally, it is said that she stopped the Mexican-American fighter from negotiating with promoters and potential opponents. In the document, Golden Boy describes Garcia's position as "absurd" because his promotional agreement is null and invalid and cannot be enforced. "Golden Boy has been proud to have worked with Ryan Garcia for the last several years and to help catapult him to the kind of stardom that led to the biggest pay-per-view event in years just two months ago," Golden Boy said in a statement released to multiple media outlets. "With this filing, we are seeking to ensure that Ryan and his team will honor the remainder of his contract, a contract that Ryan himself called 'one of the most lucrative boxing deals for a prospect in the history of the sport.' "Since then, Ryan has moved on to becoming a legitimate contender, and we will continue to present Ryan with the best possible opponents that can eventually lead the way to a world championship and historic legacy.

In the main event of UFC Vegas 75 on Saturday night, Cannonier gave possibly the best performance of his career, defeating Marvin Vettori by unanimous decision. The victory solidified Cannonier's status as one of the best middleweights in the world, and he thinks it immediately puts him back in the title race. “The way I see the immediate future going, Robert [Whittaker] is going to fight Dricus [Du Plessis]; I know Israel [Adesanya] wants to fight Dricus so bad, but I feel with my performance, as far as the guys who make that decision go, I’m sure that puts my name well up there in that area,” Cannonier said at Saturday’s UFC Vegas 75 post-fight press conference. “I’m not really concerned myself with what may or may not be, I’m just going to focus on the next fight. I’m going to get back in the gym, get back to making myself better, get back to improving on my skills, and worry about the next fight.” At UFC 290, Whittaker will square off against Du Plessis in a No. 1 contender's contest, leaving Cannonier without a clear next foe. Fortunately, Khamzat Chimaev is one moniker that fans have taken a particular liking to.

  • John Dodson Set for Bare-Knuckle Flyweight Title Clash Against J.R. Ridge at BKFC 48

Former UFC flyweight title contender John Dodson is about to embark on a new chapter in his combat sports journey, as he gears up to compete for the inaugural flyweight championship in the bare-knuckle arena. The Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship made an exciting announcement on Thursday, revealing that Dodson will square off against JR. Ridge in a highly anticipated showdown for the flyweight title at BKFC 48. The event is scheduled to take place on August 11 at the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dodson, a two-time challenger for the UFC flyweight title, fell short in his bids to dethrone Demetrious Johnson in 2013 and 2015. After his second defeat, Dodson moved up to the bantamweight division, where he competed for several years. However, last year, he returned to the 125-pound weight class, making his BKFC debut with an impressive 40-second victory over Ryan Benoit. Dodson followed up on his success by securing a 1:41-second knockout of former interim bantamweight champion Jarod Grant at KnuckleMania 3, solidifying his shot at the flyweight title. In stark contrast, Ridge has built his entire career within the BKFC organization. The 37-year-old Filipino fighter is currently riding a two-fight winning streak in the promotion, with his most recent victory coming against Chance Wilson at BKFC 32. Ridge's impressive performances have earned him the opportunity to face off against Dodson for the coveted flyweight title. While no additional fights have been announced for the BKFC 48 fight card at this time, the forthcoming clash between Dodson and Ridge promises to be a thrilling affair. Both fighters will undoubtedly bring their unique skills and relentless spirit to the squared circle, aiming to etch their names in the history books as the first-ever BKFC flyweight champion. As Dodson looks to add a new accolade to his impressive combat sports resume, the bare-knuckle landscape welcomes his electrifying presence. Fans of the sport can eagerly anticipate the clash of styles and sheer determination that will unfold when Dodson and Ridge step into the ring on August 11. • Alexander Volkanovski Open to 'BMF' Title Fight if Makhachev Rematch Fails

Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski is ready to prove he's the "baddest motherf**ker" in the UFC if his highly anticipated rematch with Islam Makhachev doesn't materialize. Volkanovski, who recently challenged Makhachev for the lightweight championship but fell short, is willing to vie for the coveted "BMF" belt in the interim. Following his intense battle with Makhachev at UFC 284, Volkanovski is set to drop back down to featherweight and face interim champ Yair Rodriguez on July 8 at UFC 290. However, just three weeks later, the vacant "BMF" title will be up for grabs when Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje collide in the main event at UFC 291 on July 29. Volkanovski, never one to back down from a challenge, has expressed his keen interest in taking on the winner. In a candid conversation on Israel Adesanya's YouTube channel, Volkanovski voiced his desire for the ultimate test of badassery. He stated: "At the end of the day, fight anyone, anywhere, anytime. Who's the ruler of the badasses? It's the guys that will fight injured and consistently, guys like Israel Adesanya, like myself.
That's something that I'd love to do. I'd do it anywhere, any place, any time. Maybe a 'BMF' belt fight while – if Islam is there doing his thing, and then we do our immediate rematch after, then I can have three belts. I'd love that. Featherweight, 'BMF' belt, and that lightweight belt." Poirier and Gaethje have already showcased their exceptional skills in a Fight of the Year barnburner in 2018, where Poirier emerged victorious with a Round 4 stoppage. Volkanovski, sharing his insights on the impending rematch, slightly leans towards Poirier to come out on top once again. "If I had to lean toward someone, I feel like I'd start leaning toward Poirier," Volkanovski said. "He obviously won the last time they fought, and I think I'd probably lean toward Dustin. But I mean, you can't tell me that Justin Gaethje can't catch him. And then you've seen even in Justin's last fight, his fitness held on obviously fighting (Rafael) Fiziev, (who) slowed down a bit, and Justin started pouring it on. So he might even be there the whole time, but I just think that you know that Dustin can go the five rounds, and he probably gets more and more technical as the fight goes on." While Volkanovski's immediate focus remains on his upcoming bout with Rodriguez, the prospect of a "BMF" title fight adds another layer of excitement to his career trajectory. With his unwavering determination and fighting spirit, the featherweight champ is ready to leave no doubt about his status as one of the UFC's most formidable warriors. Whether it's an epic rematch with Makhachev or a battle for the "BMF" belt, Alexander Volkanovski continues to prove that he is a force to be reckoned with, and his indomitable spirit resonates throughout the Octagon.
