Then gives props to Usyk for his victory even though he believes he won. In the press confrence after the event he is brought to tears, he was so upset of losing. My opinión on A.J is that he did really good but Usyk is also great and maybe he didnt react in a manner he should of when he lost but its understandable due to all the pressure thats on him. Now we are talking about maybe the most popular fighter in England at this moment , the man is always on the news, ofcourse he has alot on the plate. Now before everyone talks bad about A.J and say he isnt all that, just think about this, is winning an olímpic gold medal make you great? Is being two time world heavyweight champion make you great? He said “ You all said I couldn’t do it. Look at me now! Headshot, dead. That’s it” He further emphasized “It doesn’t matter from the trenches. I’m built like this. I go until the bell’s done. Look at me now. I told you I could do it. Pound-for-pound, what? The belt belongs to nobody!” Only Michael Bisping, who won the middleweight belt in 2016, is a British fighter who has held a UFC title before Edwards. Usman came out firing in the second round, applying pressure to Edwards and launching hard shots to the head and body as a result of the difficult beginning. Usman briefly knocked Edwards down again as the third round got under way, but he also established the tone and kept the pace under control. Usman was throwing powerful blows every time the fight returned to the feet, including multiple elbows that clubbed Edwards on the side of the head in the fourth round. In the high altitude of Vivint Arena, both middleweights appeared to be completely worn out, but Rockhold in particular repeatedly put his hands on his hips between rounds and had to breathe through his mouth early on because blood was running out of his nose. Costa ultimately succeeded in getting the job done. After the bout Rockhold called it a day in the post fight interview and said that he is too old to compete in the octagon. Unfortunately, the bout never came to fruition as Dana White revealed that Jon Jones demanded ‘’Deontay Wilder money’’ and the negotiation between the promotion and Jon Jones had fallen apart. Since then, the path to glory for Jones was mapped out like he would make his heavyweight debut against the former champion Stipe Miocic in an interim championship bout because Francis Ngannou was unavailable as he went for knee surgery and is in the healing process, but nothing has been made official yet by the promotion. Now it appears that Jon Jones is finally made up his mind to return to the cage as he took to social media with the following Tweets: After tweeting “UFC 282” with the praying emoji, he expressed his desire to replicate his title-winning performance just like he made against ‘Shogun’ at light heavyweight. Many of his UFC fans got excited thinking of his return after his couple of tweets. But some of the fans were doubtful and thought it was just his usual Twitter talk. He was slammed by his followers for ducking Ngannou for a long time when he is currently in rehabilitation and having a UFC contract dispute. The situation is pretty unclear at the moment if he would be welcomed by the champion Ngannou himself or if the promotion will give birth to an interim championship fight against Stipe Miocic. Miocic has been out of action since his loss to Francis Ngannou back in March 2021. For any reason, if Miocic and Ngannou both are unavailable, UFC might match up Jones against the winner of Ciryl Gane vs Tai Tuivasa on debut. As of now UFC 282 is expected to be headlined by Jiri Prochazka vs Glover Teixeira 2. It would be fascinating to see the legend making his return on such a highly anticipated main event.

But he went on a rant over the promotion’s drug testing partner, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). Costa looked confident and in good shape when he appeared for the scales. He had a bottle tapped with paper labeled as a ‘’secret juice’’. Immediately after going off the scale, Costa blasted over the unnamed official of the US Anti-Doping Agency with his middle fingers up. He claimed that he was irritated by the surprise visit by USADA while he was struggling to make the weight cut. “The guy went to my bedroom 7am, I was cutting weight, to take my blood,” Costa said after hitting 185.5 pounds on the scale. “F*** USADA.” Paulo Costa has dealt with a lot of stress ahead of his UFC bouts like having trouble with sleep and drinking a bottle of wine before his title match against Israel Adesanya. He arrived for the main event fight against Marvin Vettori in a bulked-up condition as he could not restrict himself under 186lb. Eventually, both fighters then agreed to fight in the light heavyweight category. Later, he took over his social media and put a light on his harsh reaction towards USADA during the weigh-in ceremony in Salt Lake City. USADA partnered with the promotion back in 2015 with the motive to preserve the integrity of the competition, inspire true sport, and protect the rights of athletes. The purpose of the drug testing program is to prevent athletes from using performance-enhancing drugs and it impacts the eligibility of athletes who try to cheat by using banned substances. Paulo Costa isn’t the only fighter to be upset at the USADA regarding the drug tests at the odd time. Many fighters have spoken before about the inconveniences faced due to USADA's random drug testing. One of them is the current UFC Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski who recently faced a similar issue during his 2nd matchup against Max Holloway. USADA representative appeared on the doorstep hours before the fight when Volkanovski was asleep with the assistance of the melatonin pills. Volkanovski had to drink up a lot of water as he was unable to urinate for the sample. Urijah Faber is another fighter who became the victim of the USADA. He claimed that the representative of the drug testing agency calls him in the middle of the birth of a child. Recently UFC welterweight champion also expressed his frustration regarding the testing timings as he was unnecessarily woken by USADA at 5 am for a random drug test, despite giving his whereabouts to the agency. The fighters are raising their voice against the testing timings, not the policy. The fighter had to follow up with the strict routine and disturbing them might affect their preparation plans. They hope that the promotion would take necessary measures and come up with a solution.

UFC 281 has its second title fight, pending finalization. UFC women's strawweight champion Carla Esparza vs. Zhang Weili is being targeted as per reports. The promotion is on verge of treating the fans with two title fights for its return to Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 12th, 2022. Esparza confirmed the plans for the fight on her Instagram post made on Thursday. This comes after a report from Ariel Helwani regarding the booking. The fight will be Esparza’s first title defense after she dethroned her longtime rival Rose Namajunas to become UFC women’s strawweight championship in a fight that ranks among the worst in UFC history. Despite the lack of action, the split decision came in favor of Esparza which extended her current undefeated streak to six fights in a row. She also won the inaugural women’s strawweight title against Namajunas in the finals of The Ultimate Fighter 20 back in December 2014. Meanwhile, Zhang will be looking for a fresh second reign of her own after she initially won the strawweight title back in 2019. She dropped the title in back-to-back losses to Rose Namajunas, but she bounced back in a rematch against the Polish fighter Joanna Jedrzejczyk in an impressive fashion with a spinning backfist TKO in June. The win put her back on top as Dana White had already confirmed the winner would be the next title challenger. It wasn’t expected that Esparza will be stepping in the cage that early as her injuries indicated that she will be out until 2023. Zhang was pushed for the fight to happen at UFC 280 on October 22. With Esparza cleared of her injuries, the bout will take place later than Zhang wanted but earlier than Esparza’s expected timeline.
