Severino, with a record of 8-1, had Lima's back near the cage when he bit Lima on the arm. Referee Chris Tognoni quickly intervened, seeing the bite mark and subsequently disqualified Severino for his actions.

Following the disqualification, several professional fighters took to social media to call for Severino's removal from the UFC roster. Dana White responded to these calls, stating to MMA journalist Kevin Iole that Severino's UFC career began and ended that evening at the Apex.

White emphasized the severity of Severino's actions, noting that he had ruined a significant opportunity in his career. White also mentioned the potential consequences Severino might face from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC).

In addition to Severino's release from the UFC, Dana White announced that André Lima would receive a "bite bonus." According to a tweet from Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting, White told Lima's manager that he would give Lima the first "I Got Fucking Bit Bonus."

The decision to cut Severino from the UFC roster has sparked debate among fans and the MMA community. Some agree with White's decision, citing Severino's unsportsmanlike behavior, while others believe the punishment may be too harsh.
