In the world of combat sports, ticket sales have always been one of the most significant indicators of success. While many promotions may struggle to fill arenas, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) has emerged as a powerhouse, consistently selling out events and proving its rising popularity. BKFC founder and president David Feldman has been candid about what sets BKFC apart from other combat sports promotions.
“We’re actually one of the only promotions in the world that sells tickets,” Feldman proudly stated in a recent interview .
This statement is not just an empty boast. From the launch of BKFC in 2018 to its present-day expansion across multiple countries, the organization has seen consistent growth in attendance. Feldman’s pride stems from the fact that the majority of BKFC events have not only sold tickets, but they’ve also set records. BKFC 63 in Sturgis, S.D., for instance, attracted an impressive 15,000 attendees, the highest in the promotion's history.
Feldman compares BKFC's ticket sales to those of other combat sports promotions. While top-tier events like the UFC and major boxing matches sell out, many mid-tier MMA and boxing promotions struggle to fill arenas, often papering up the crowd by giving away free tickets. This is not the case for BKFC anymore. We just sold 5,400 tickets this past weekend, Feldman mentioned, noting that their upcoming Spain event is expected to sell around 6,700 tickets.
With a solid ticket sales record, a new broadcast partnership with DAZN, and none other than Conor McGregor joining as a co-owner, BKFC is poised for even greater success. Feldman expects 2024 to be the biggest year yet, with even bigger aspirations for 2025.
“We thought we were out of business 10 different times and we just found a way to make it happen,” Feldman said, confident in BKFC’s bright future.
With their rapid growth, it’s no wonder BKFC is knocking on the door of the industry’s top combat sports promotions.
