WBC lightheavyweight title clash between champion Artur Beterbiev and Anthony Yard has been postponed due to Beterbiev suffering an unspecified injury in training for this fight. The fight has been postponed till early 2023 and to take place in Londons O2 Arena. Its a good fight but it doesnt attract alot of attention in América, only half the world will take notice of its postponment. Odds are in the champs favor to win by KO.

Paulo Costa is one of the UFC’s high-profile fighters and has become a unique personality in mixed martial arts. In addition to what he can do inside the cage, the Brazilian sensation is well criticized for his foolish attitude and nonseriousness as he claimed that he had a bottle of wine before his title fight against Israel Adesanya. Costa was widely criticized for his weight heading into a Fight Night headliner against Marvin Vettori in October 2021. Costa weighed 211 pounds when he arrived in Las Vegas for a fight meant to be contested at the middleweight maximum of 186 pounds. Ultimately, he made Vettori jump from middleweight to light heavyweight on one week's notice for the fight and lost via unanimous decision. Dana White also revealed that Costa won’t be competing again in the middleweight division. The latter of those points is why there are going to be a lot of eyes on Paulo when he weighs in for his return to the octagon against former champion Luke Rockhold. During his media day, Costa spoke confidently about his ability to hit the scale at 186 or less. “Yes, I guarantee [he’ll make weight]. If you want to bet, I’ll bet. I can make the weight tonight.” Paddy has become known for his ballooning up in between the fights. But the Liverpool star has been perfect on the scales before the fight although he was unable to make the weight cut on a few occasions early in his career. When Costa was asked about whether The Baddy has tipped him with the secrets of the weight cut. He said, “Yeah, he gave me a few instructions. Man, if you look for me and Paddy, it’s not a joke anymore. We have to cut a lot of weight in a short time. When I saw Paddy fight two weeks ago, I tweeted this I said man, this is a short time to cut that much weight, but he did it. He did great, and me as well! We know how to cut weight.” Exactly, the weight cut is not a joke. MMA fighters cut more weight than other combat sports athletes and cut more in the last 24 hours before the weigh-in using extreme methods like saunas or sweat suits to dehydrate themselves to lose weight. Most of them miss up to two meals a day during weight cutting and sometimes even eat as little as 300-750 calories a day. Such energy and fluid restriction can reduce nervous system function and muscles' speed and capacity to work. Paulo Costa suffered back-to-back losses against Israel Adesanya and Marvin Vettori which snapped his 13-fight win streak. But still, he is considered a genuine contender for the title fight. For that, the Brazilian will need to prove his critics wrong when he finds Luke Rockhold across the octagon at UFC 278. Jose Aldo feels, after the bout against the rising contender Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 278, will make him undeniable. He intends to go on one last ride for the UFC gold before he signs off his MMA career. The fight will take place under the main card of Kamaru Usman vs Leon Edwards 2 on Saturday. The Brazilian was perhaps the most intimidating fighter in UFC during his pomp, winning the featherweight championship and defending it several times before losing to Conor McGregor in 2015. Things went south for Aldo after his defeat to the Irishman as he lost five out of the eight fights that followed. However, his confidence is once again on top as he has managed to win his last three bouts against highly decorated fighters like Marlon Vera, Pedro Munhoz, and Rob Font. Aldo thinks he should be next in line for the championship fight if he can continue his winning streak after the win over Dvalishvili. Note that Marlon Vera has also put a notice with his remarkable win against the former champion Dominick Cruz. “I actually think that I (should’ve been) fighting for the title,” Aldo told reporters through an interpreter at Wednesday’s UFC 278 media day. “I wanted to fight Aljo (Aljamain Sterling), but he’s going for Dillashaw. “I believe if I win this fight, I am actually then the next one up to fight for the belt.” Merab Dvalishvili is currently ranked #6 in the bantamweight division and is entering the octagon with an intention of moving to the number one contender. His debut in the UFC didn’t go according to his plan as he lost his first two fights. He changed his game and made a solid rebound from going 0-2 to 7-2 with wins that include names like Marlon Moraes, Cody Staman, and John Dodson. Right now, the UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling is scheduled to face T.J. Dillashaw on October 22nd at UFC 280. Former WBC world heavyweight champ Deontay Wilder believes in his heart that Usyk will win in this much anticipated rematch against Anthony Joshua this weekend. He feels the champ Oleksandr Usyk has the momentum now and is motivated and that will make him hard to get beat at this moment. He also said that Usyk is a fighter that can adapt on the fly and make changes in the fight. Also on the Joshua v.s Usyk undercard you have former supermiddleweight world champion Callum Smith in a WBC lightheavyweight world title elimanator. He will take on tuff Mathieu Bauderlique the current EBU champion. Smith views this fight as a must win situation and that he feels better at 175 lbs because he doesnt struggle that much to make weight. Hrgovic v.s Zhang for the IBF title elimination has to be the biggest fight of both their carreers so far. The winner of the fight gets the Joshua v.s Usyk winner. Hrgovic is happy he is getting to fight because he had a really tuff time getting an opponent for this event. Many top contenders didnt want to fight Hrgovic until Zhang raised his hand. Since he is on verge of making a return to the octagon, Luke Rockhold has ignited the fire again with his rants. He has been especially fuming at the UFC bonus structure, which has arguably gotten worse over the years, especially when inflation is considered. Ahead of his UFC 278 pre-fight news conference said he is not afraid to voice these concerns. “I’m not saying anything that’s not real,” Rockhold said. “Everything I’m saying is justified and truthful. Just because I should be in a position of power before I say this sh*t? F*ck off. I have nothing to lose. I don’t need this business. I love fighting, and I’m here to fight the best motherf*ckers, and this happens to be the place where it’s done. The company is f*cking growing, and they’re implementing other little stupid-ass bonuses – $5,000 here, $5,000 there. $50,000, man? We’ve been stuck on this motherf*cker for 20 f*cking years. I mean, back when GSP was fighting Jake (Shields), I mean, what was it? $100,000? F*cking it was growing.” Francis Ngannou has been one of the most vocal fighters when it comes to the issue of UFC and its pay structure. But it looks like the heavyweight champion is inspired by Rockhold’s recent rant and fires off a series of tweets related to the UFC sponsorship restrictions which prevent fighters from earning a lot of money in addition to what they earn inside the cage. Ngannou claims that fighters should be allowed to add individual sponsors on their UFC uniform, which is a similar suggestion to PFL’s current system. Before UFC's deal with Reebok in 2015, fighters were permitted to get their sponsors and wear logos and advertisements on their attire. But once the promotion’s policy related to standard uniforms became official, fighters were no longer allowed to have that additional money. Even before the policy came into being, UFC had already instituted a sponsor tax where sponsors had to pay the promotion before reaching an agreement with the fighter. Ngannou also revealed that he was personally affected by another sponsorship restriction because UFC didn’t allow him to promote a rival brand that conflicted with the organization’s official partner. As of now, Ngannou is in the rehabilitation process as a result of knee surgery. He is still to become a free agent by the end of the year. His priority remains to face the Gypsy King, Tyson Fury in an exhibition boxing match. But we will have to wait and see how those negotiations develop. He said that Usyk will win because he is much more disiplined than he is but it will be a hard fight for both fighters. Unified world champion Oleksandr Usyk wants to uplift his countrymens spirits this saturday night when he takes on Anthony Joshua in their much anticipated rematch. Oleksandr Usyk said in an interview that it was hard to take the fight but he was incouraged by his countrymen who motivated him and told him that by fighting he helps the cause more than by staying and maybe getting killed in the war thats been going on in the Ukrain. He said also that there are days that its hard to not think of the horrors of war and thinks of all those wounded countrymen in the Ukrainian hospitals, but he feels really motivated to give his best and uplift his countrymen spirits with a great fight and ofcourse a great victory. Vasyl Lomachenko will make his boxing comeback in October of this year. Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs) has not fought in 2022. There are rumors that he has been making word of returning soon. Legendary Boxing promoter Bob Arum in an interview said: “If he gets leave from the Ukrainian military, we can get Lomachenko in action in October. Then next year, there is a lot of ways for Lomachenko to go. I think Carl Moretti is working with the matchmakers to pick a suitable opponent, and I am sure we will come up with somebody that passes all the next... Remember, Loma has been inactive since December." . The fighters are coming back, and Vasyl Lomachenko appears to be the next. He is ready to go and anxious to step foot back into the ring, looking forward to a new appointment. “One fight that has to be made — maybe not next for either guy, down the road. Probably next year. A fight that everyone would die to see is Shakur Stevenson and Lomachenko, and both fighters want that fight.” Lomachenko, the world's No. 9 pound-for-pound boxer and a two-time Olympic gold medalist, suffered a high-profile loss to Teofimo Lopez in October 2020. The last UFC pay-per-view event of 2022 is starting to take shape. UFC 282 is set to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is expected that it will be headlined by a light heavyweight title rematch between Jiri Procházka and Glover Teixeira. The reports are coming in that a welterweight clash between former champion, Robbie Lawler and Santiago Ponzinibbio is on board for UFC 282 on December 10th, 2022. 2022 got off to a rough start for both fighters as they will be looking to bounce back from their defeats and end the calendar year on a good note. Lawler became prey to Bryan Barberena last month at UFC 276 via TKO in the very 2nd month. Since losing his title defense to Tyron Woodley in July 2016 at UFC 201, Robbie Lawler has only managed to bag two wins out of seven bouts. The wins came against UFC legend Donald Cerrone and Nick Diaz in a rematch at UFC 266. That rematch victory snapped Lawler’s four-fight losing skid, with defeats to Rafael dos Anjos, Ben Askren, Colby Covington, and Neil Magny. As one of Argentina’s finest throughout his career, Ponzinibbio has been a regular contender at 170 pounds in recent years. But unfortunately, the injuries kept him out for a two-year gap after the win against Neil Magny back in 2018. Since his return to the octagon, he has gone 1-3. Ponzinibbio lost to a Chinese uprising star Li Jingliang and won against Miguel Baeza in the same year. Now he intends to get back on a winning path after facing back-to-back losses against #8 ranked welterweight Geoff Neal and Michel Pereira. Lawler and Ponzinibbio were previously scheduled to face each other at UFC 245 in 2019, but a staph infection forced Ponzinibbio to withdraw from the bout. Lawler instead faced Neil Magny eight months later, losing by unanimous decision. Lawler vs Ponzinibbio is only the second bout added to the UFC 282 lineup thus far with the Light Heavyweight title fight rematch between the champion, Jiri Prochazka, and Glover Teixeira set as the first. More announcements are expected in the coming weeks with 2022 dwindling.

Former WBO Cruiserweight World Champion Johnny Nelson made news by saying he would of beaten 2 división unified champion Oleksandr Usyk in his day (1990-2005) if they would of fought . Nelson also said that Usyk isnt on the same level as other great southpaws like Pernel Whitaker, Naseem Hamed and Manny Pacquiao. I believe Nelson wants the attention. You cant say a fighter like Usyk is not great when hes won gold at the olimpics and was undisputed champion in the cruiserweight división and now is unified world champion in heavyweight división.
