- Should UFC Ban Knee Kicks
The oblique kick has come under fire after Khalil Rountree devastated Modestas Bukauskas with a TKO by it. Basically this kick focuses striking on the oblique but causes the knee to contort and buckle under the force. Often causing permanent damage. Jon Jones did it, along with many other fighters. It's brutal and it's mean, but hey so is punching people or choking them. The fighter community is split on whether this kick should be banned or should be embraced. It's hard to say really. Fight fans are also on the fence. Who should really be making the decision here is fighters and in my opinion, with each contract. Instead of making a cookie cutter rule list that all fighters must abide by. Why don't we have custom contracts per fight? Where you can choose to allow certain strikes or submissions and things of that nature. I feel this would solve the problems where different fighters have different opinions. We could also base our favorite fighters off how they handle their contracts. Otherwise we just need to focus on building a general consensus- ban the oblique kick or embrace it? - Is Holyfield Too Old To Fight?
First and foremost, it's a fighters choice and since real deal Holyfield is fighting, he says he's not too old. However after his training highlight video has been making rounds - fight fans have started to wonder. Is Holyfield too old? He is almost 60. Now when we saw the Mike Tyson training highlights for the Jones Jr bout, Mike looked explosive. His hits landing hard and fast. Evander Holyfield on the other hand, looked slow and sluggish. Maybe it wasn't a highlight reel and just a video of him tired after a 6 hour gym session, but it's still concerning. Fight fans are coming out of the wood work after hearing about Holyfield replacing De La Hoya in this bout. This was very last minute and we can't help but wonder how long Holyfield has been planning this return from retirement. Has he been waiting for an opportunity to step in the ring and training since maybe watching his old nemesis Tyson start fighting again? All we can say for certain is Holyfield will be fighting and we hope he gets to relive his glory days while also maintaining his health. Maybe this could set a new standard for retired fighters. - Stevenson VS Herring - Oct 23rd
Get ready to be a boxing fan. The WBO has announced an important and thrilling match for its fans, where two friends will become mortal enemies of each other. Shakur Stevenson wants to set up Jamel Herring 'I don't have a friend' at State Farm Arena, Atlanta, Georgia. The competition is significant because Herring is the WBO Junior Lightweight World Champion and Stevenson owns the WBO Interim 130 Pound title. Ring No. 2 ranked, Herring (23-2, 11 knockouts) and Ring No. 7 ranked Stevenson (16-0, 8 KOs) seem to have a relationship that is years old. The two used to train together but in October this relationship will turn into violence. After the victory at the Virgin Hotel Las Vegas Theater, Stevenson said, "If I had a choice, I would win the Oscar Valdez, but if I beat Jamel, I would do the same. Jamel can't beat me. Jamel knows what it is." Herring, who took part in the fight, returned fire: "I know everyone wants the next fight, but I'm not coming with heavy feet like Frank Stein." Undefeated 24-year-old Stevenson (16-0, 8 KOs) clashed with former junior welterweight world champion Regis Progress on Wednesday in preparation for the herring tilt. The importance of this battle must be realized. It will be the most unique battle of its kind where two friends will face each other as enemies. The question is, will Stevenson remain undefeated this time around? Or will Herring deafeat Stevenson for the first time? Fight.TV wants to know what you think!

Tate, who is very strong and second to none in the game, although she returned to the Octagon in July after a five-year absence, defeated Marion Reno in the third round by TKO. Tate's stunning victory will give the 35-year-old a chance to make headlines again. Before Reno's TKO in July. Tate (19-7) lost two fights in July and November 2016, defeated by Amanda Nunes and Raquel Pennington, respectively. She nominated Holly Holm to become the UFC champion. She retired after losing to Pennington but returned to the competition this year. A match against Vera is a step towards a return to the top of the game. On the other hand, Vieira (11-2) will try to avoid two consecutive defeats after a unanimous decision on Yana Konetskaya's back in February. The 29-year-old's last victory came in September 2020, when she won a unanimous decision. Although Vieira has lost two of her last three matches, a high-profile win against Tate could help rise in the rankings. The question arises as to who UFC Vegas 40 will be kind to.
