In the realm of mixed martial arts, Khabib Nurmagomedov's legacy extends far beyond his undefeated record and championship belts. Despite retiring from MMA in 2020, "The Eagle" continues to soar as a guiding force for his teammates, dispelling any notions that his role in their journey has diminished.

In a recent statement, Nurmagomedov clarified his stance, emphasizing that while he may have stepped away from cornering duties, his dedication to coaching remains unwavering. From the corridors of the gym to the heart of training camps, Nurmagomedov imparts his wealth of knowledge and experience to the likes of UFC lightweight champ Islam Makhachev, Bellator champ Usman Nurmagomedov, UFC bantamweight contender Umar Nurmagomedov, and many others.

"It’s not like I’m retired from coaching," Nurmagomedov affirmed during an appearance for Class A Events in Canada. "Sometimes I go to the gym, I share my knowledge, my experience, with all my brothers."

At 35, Nurmagomedov's wisdom transcends the physical realm of the octagon. He acknowledges the mental fortitude required to navigate the highs and lows of a fighter's journey. Despite his unblemished record, Nurmagomedov recognizes the importance of resilience in the face of defeat.

"If mentally he’s weak, it doesn’t matter. Even if he’s going to win, he’s going to change," Nurmagomedov remarked. "Sometimes when fighters lose, this is better for him than winning because it’s not about, all the time, winning."

As Nurmagomedov continues to mold the next generation of fighters, his coaching legacy remains a beacon of inspiration. Whether guiding champions or nurturing resilience in the face of adversity, his impact reverberates throughout the MMA community, shaping not just victories, but character.
