  • Anthony Joshua On Oleksandr Usyk

Anthony Joshua will be defending his WBA, WBO, and IBF Heavyweight titles against Oleksandr Usyk on September 25th in London. Anthony had lot's to say to Sky Sports about the upcoming bout and what his plans are. "You can either be aggressive, corner - throw everything at him. Or take your time, be clever, then knock him out." Is what Joshua said in terms of his plans. So we can assume he plans to fight defensivley or at least save his aggressive onslaughts towards the later rounds. Joshua went on to talk about Usyk's footwork, how it's unique and will be troubling for him if anything is to prove challenging in this bout. "Concentration, when you want to punch, you lock in, then make a move. You have to make sure your brain works. That can be mentally fatiguing so I am sharpening the mind so that I can concentrate for the 12 rounds. Also I practice having the ability to punch four times, not just once." Solid game plan Anthony. Usyk is undefeated as a lower weight class and will be stepping up to heavyweight to challenge Joshua. This will be very interesting as we've seen dominant fighters like The Last Stylebender get shutdown after climbing into a new weightclass to challenge the champ. Joshua is the heavyweight local, and is used to fighting at that weight. Only time will tell! Who is your betting favorite in the mix?! Share this and tell the world what you think!

  • Joe Rogan's GOAT Pick - Khabib

Joe Rogan is no stranger to heavy opinions and there really isn't a bigger rage inducing argumentative opinion out there other than "Whose the greatest of all time." In Joe's mind the answer is clear - Khabib Nurmagomedov. Joe had lot's to say about this “Because in my opinion Khabib is probably the best candidate, because Khabib not only did he not lose a fight, he barely lost a round. He lost maybe one round to Conor, and it seemed like he was just taking the round off, like to kind of you know preserve his energy, so he could finish Conor afterwards, and he did. He wound up finishing him.” “Khabib has never been in trouble in a fight. Michael Johnson tagged him once, and Michael Johnson is a guy that doesn’t get nearly enough respect. Yeah, he’s had some rough losses, but Michael Johnson knocked out Dustin Poirier with one punch. Michael Johnson was a dangerous dangerous man, and he still is. And he tagged Khabib, it probably had Khabib in the most trouble ever in a fight, he had him wobbled. But, Khabib ultimately won that fight and destroyed him. I mean he was pounding on him, he was telling him quit now quit now, you know I deserve the title shot, beating it out of him, and then put him in a kimura and tapped him. It’s arguable Khabib is the greatest of all time.’’ Do you agree with Joe? Who do you think is the GOAT? Personally I think Joe might be right but I think there's still some stones left unturned here. Who is your GOAT!?!?

  • Should Israel Adesanya Attempt 205 Again?

The current UFC Middleweight champion is no other than Israel Adesanya, The Last Stylebender. He's regarded as one of the best strikers in all of combat sports and a phenom whose thirst for victory is relentless. Seriously just look at all but one of his opponents, with his fight record of 21-1-0. Adesanya attempted to fight Jan Blachowicz back in March at UFC 259 but lost by unanimous decision. It was his first attempt at a light heavyweight UFC bout after dominating the middleweight class for the past few years. While Adesanya might have been stiffened trying to climb divisions and go after two titles. It was an admirable attempt that most fighters don't even begin to attempt. Israel may attempt 205 again and this time would have to likely fight contenders versus and instant title shot. I think had The Last Stylebender been forced to fight contenders first, it might have been a much different scenario. He went 5 rounds with the 205 champ and didn't do too bad. HE's not used to competing at that weight. Had he taken the time to feel his style out more at that size, we could have seen a very different fight with a contender instead of a champ. What do you think fight fans? Should he stay at middleweight or try his hand at light-heavyweight again?

  • When Chael Sonnen's Mom Almost Shot Yushin Okami

It's no secret that Chael Sonnen is an MMA GOAT, with lots of friends in the fight scene, and lots of crazy stories. This one is of no exception. It turns out that Chael is really good friends with Yushin Okami. Yushin had stayed at Claudia Sonnen's home before while traveling for training and fights and such. This time was different! Yushin had planned to stay at a hotel somewhere and then last minute decided to change his mind. He wasn't expected at Claudia's, his arrival woke her up and set off the houses alarm. Alarmed, Claudia jumped out of bed. Scrambled towards the window to jump out but fell. She then decided it was too risky to run for it, and she needed to grab her gun. So she's hearing this thudding outside her door. It's Yushin, turning back and forth at the alarm trying to turn it off with the code Chael had given him, with his backpack smacking her bedroom door each time. Claudia was terrified. She let out a warning - "I have a gun!" to which she heard back - "It's Yushin. Yushin Okami." She sighed with releif and gave him a hug. We're really glad to know that Yushin survived the encounter and Claudia didn't decide to send slugs through her bedroom door at the noise across from her.

  • Jake Paul Hounds UFC Fighter Pay

The Problem Child is living up to his nickname in that he brings a lot of controversy and animosity to boxing. Jake Paul has done the opposite of traditionally climbing ranks, and gone straight to prizefights. He seems to try to pick his opponents for his advantage, ones that aren't solely boxers or are smaller than him. Hopefully this is only to raise animosity and build up peoples want to watch him fight. All being channeled to bring more fans to combat sports, raise PPV sales, and ultimately help fighters might be Jakes real plan. Regardless of what you think about Jake Paul, one thing you should respect about him is his relentless onslaught on UFC fighter pay. UFC fighters are some of the lowest payed athletes in the world compared to the revenue they generate and the % they get paid. UFC fighters are getting somewhere around 10% where Bellator fighters are getting closer to 50%. Jake Paul in his interview with MMA Fighting said - “They can’t advocate for fighter pay because Dana White will just shunt them, and a lot of the times it’s the same thing with some of these boxing promoters who sign young stars and lock them up into super long contracts. But I see how hard fighting is, I see how hard these fighters work, and the fact that it’s so skewed versus any other sport and it’s the most dangerous sport out of all of them? There needs to be a change there and I’m actually starting to affect Dana White’s business.” So it's easy to see where he stands. He also made it very clear he wants fighters to get more payouts on their cards. So any fighter on a card with Jake will get a good deal. Regardless what you think about Jake Paul, try to keep in mind that animosity sells fights. If you try to look at the bigger picture, I think you'll see he's a genuine dude who want's to help the sport grow. Now if he'll just fight a boxer in his weight-class!

  • When Should Fighters Retire?

This is a big question that's highly debated in the combat sports community. Because we've got boxers like Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather who are way past their prime but still competing and fighting for titles at that. We've got MMA fighters like Clay Guida and Jan Blachowicz nearing 40 but still competing or holding titles! Where do we draw the line though, or should we even draw a line? After Manny's loss the other night many fight fans are wondering if he should retire or at what point generally we should stop expecting our favorite fighters to compete. We've got guys like GSP and Khabib who retire what some would say kind of early, but at the same time these dudes were very hard on themselves in their training - must've saw a decline in their performances and known it was time to hang up the gloves. Personally I think we should leave it up to the fighter. Look at Blachowicz, the dude is near 40. He's the oldest current UFC champion I believe. The man is still out there kicking butt. At the same time there's fighters out there retiring well into their early or mid 30's. Then you've got guys like Anderson Silva who, step down from the complicated dynamics of MMA to focus on solely boxing. At the end of the day we should just support our favorite fighters in what they want to do whether it be retire, keep competing, or just go to coaching. It's not up to us, and we shouldn't act like we know any better than the fighters we are fans of. What do you think?

  • Ugas Beats Pacqiaou By Unanimous Decision

Pacman was making his return at 42 years old with 2 years since his last fight to compete against Yordenis Ugas for the WBA Welterweight title and lost via unanimous decision. Manny is the only boxer to ever win world titles in 8 different divisions, he's definitley a boxing GOAT, but will we be seeing him compete again is a big question that fight fans are asking right now. Many feel that this fight, we didn't get to see the trademark speed and power that Manny usually displays. Some argue that Ugas is just that good, Pacquiao really hasn't aged that much it's just he contested against a much more skilled boxer - which could be the case and Pacman fans are just in denial. This is a highly disputed topic that we know the boxing community will be hashing out for the next few months. If Manny should get a rematch, keep fighting, retire, or what's next for him and Yordenis Ugas. Many people still want to see Pacquiao fight Spence, the bout we were supposed to be watching tonight. What do you think fight fans? Should Manny keep fighting? A rematch vs Ugas or maybe a reschedule with Errol Spence? This will be an exciting topic to follow and we hope to bring you the answers to these questions soon!

  • UFC Fight Night Cannonier VS Gastelum Results

There were some amazing bouts on this card and fight fans definitely got to see some explosive combat, although there were no knockouts on the main card. The main event of the evening wound up with a unanimous decision victory for Jarred Cannonier who out striked his tough opponent. It was not an easy battle for Jared but he managed to maintain most of the fight in his favor. Clay Guida lost by split decision to Mark Madsen, it really came down to the striking with these two. Albeit was a very close fight and Guida came close to ending Madsen's 10-0 record, now 11-0. Parker Porter did the heavyweight division justice tonight. He was swinging for the fences the entire bout and won the exchanges to get a unanimous decision victory over Chase Sherman. He may have not been the most technical but he definitely won the fight. Saidyokub Kakhramonov won via standing guillotine submission over Trevor Jones at 4 minutes and 39 seconds into the third round. The fight seemed fairly evenly matched and brutal with Jones defending the fight from going to the ground where Saidyokub wanted it. Vince Pichel out striked Austin Hubbard to get a unanimous decision victory. This was definitely a one sided fight. Both fighters were tired by the end of it but you could tell Pitchel had damaged Hubbard throughout the bout. Alexandre Pantoja gets the rear naked choke submission win over Brandon Royval. At one minute and 46 seconds into the second round Pantoja was the winner by tapping Royval. Pantoja out striked Royval in the first round as well.

  • Mayweather Claims There Will Never Be A Better Fighter

Floyd Mayweather is well known for his outspokenness. He is recently quoted as saying - " There will never be a better fighter than me, ever!" on Million Dollaz Worth Of Game Show. Where he goes off about any fighter being compared to him. Maybe he's compensating for not making Manny Pacquiao's Mount Rushmore boxer list. Floyd makes one hell of an argument though. He's undefeated professionally. He's the best pound for pound ranked boxer in history. He's got the best number on the scorecards of any boxer in history. He may not always give us the crazy knockouts blood thirsty fight fans crave because he fights defensively and mainly for points without taking huge risks. Regardless, Mayweather is a dominant force in boxing. I think everyone knows this though, it's not like there's anybody out there trying to say Mayweather isn't one of the best. (Okay maybe there are some crackheads out there.) But is Floyd really as good as he says or is it just ego? What do you think? Is Floyd really the GOAT? Will there be a better boxer than him? I think it's a bold claim to say stuff like that but, as of now he is the best per scorecards. Id still pay to watch Mike Tyson fighter over Mayweather any day, but that's just me.

  • Jose Aldo Shuts Down Mcgregor Rematch

It seems as though fighters are sick of Mcgregor. Aldo who is just riding off a recent win over Pedro Munhoz is getting a lot of buzz. Fight fans are asking who is next and if Aldo will be interested in chasing the title again. Jose has made it clear he's here to fight, but he's also made it clear who he's not going to fight. Back in 2015 Mcgregor was the one who de-throned Aldo. Jose was stripped of his title by Mcgregor and was denied any chance of a rematch before Mcgregor climbed weight classes to fight for a second title. So Jose Aldo has some very direct feelings about being asked for a rematch now that the tables are turned. Jose said - “Back when it should have happened, like they are going rematches and trilogies, I didn't have the opportunity, no one considered anything, and each one went their way. Now that the situation has inverted again, it feels like they have the obligation to book it. No, I don’t see myself fighting Conor. Never, I think. I can even say that. It might happen tomorrow, but that’s not the path. I root for him today, I hope he recovers from the injury and fights again at the highest level and becomes champion again, because that way he and I will always be together. No matter if I'm down and he's up or the other way around, people will always put out names together, and that way we carry each other up.” Aldo is very humble in his reasonings for not wanting to pursue the fight. We would all love to see that rematch, I know I would for sure. What say you fight fans? Do you agree with Jose?
